October 2009 Newsletter

"We at Inhijambia are still doing work we can be proud of: turning outcasts into productive citizens; transforming pain, misery, and violence into love, optimism, and responsible behavior. . . . We are quick to admit that this is incredibly hard work, physically and emotionally draining. It demands all our patience, energy, imagination, and more. We live with constant sadness.

Every day there seem to be more young boys and girls who need a helping hand.

September 2009 Newsletter

Dear Friend,

Past is prologue. Déja vu all over again? Puzzled, concerned, angry by recent events in Honduras?

Please visit http://quixote.org/node/955 to view a ten-minute video that provides an excellent overview of the history and current popular organizing and repression in Honduras. Some parts of the video are deeply disturbing and personally take me back to what brought me to devote much of my life to working with the people of Ni… Continue

PeaceWorks' July 2009 Newsletter

Dear Friend,

July 19 marked the 30th anniversary of Nicaragua's revolution. That tremendous achievement by the people of Nicaragua - and the subsequent reaction of the U.S. government to counter if not destroy the gains of the revolution - triggered an equally tremendous and amazing reaction on the part of many communities and thousands of people throughout our nation and the world.

The inspiration of the revolution, the hope engendered by the gains brought to the people of Nicaragua, together… Continue

Jim,
Please tell me that I have not wasted my time putting the letter "A" on 60 boxes. I should have asked before if this too would change but just dove right in. Also will you be sending the numbers soon.
Peace,
Cleta

Jim,
The only color that I brought back from Nica is my dirty laundry. I forgot that the shipment is going early this year but think we'll have 200 items. Will keep you posted.
Peace,
Cleta
